LOFOTEN ISLANDS, NORWAY

FEBRUARY 8 - 14, 2026

The Lofoten Islands archipelago is a place of unsurpassed beauty and endless photographic opportunities. Nearly 200 miles inside the Artic Circle off the coast of Norway, the Lofoten Islands are dotted with historic and quaint fishing villages like Nusfjord, Sakrisoy and Reine with their brightly colored boats and buildings. Surrounded by 1500ft snowcapped mountains that rise from the sea and picturesque beaches like Skangsanden, Uttakleive and Storsadnes, the islands are a photographer’s dream. In winter, the skies can be alive with the saturated colors of the Aurora Borealis and we will hope for clear skies to photograph the Aurora during the workshop!

We will focus our shooting times at sunrise and sunset, although the days are relatively short with the low sun of Arctic winter, which can make for beautiful light all day - and we will take full advantage of that to create stunning photographs. We will also have time for editing our images and attending classroom lectures. At night, we’ll delve into night photography, capturing the mesmerizing Northern Lights over breathtaking mountains and serene waters.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to photograph the beauty of the Lofoten Islands in winter, making every moment a photographic adventure. Join DJP to experience the winter wonderland of the Lofoten Islands and the unique Arctic landscape of Norway!
