Landscape Intensive Workshop

Great landscape photographs take you on a journey, inviting you in and allowing you to explore… how fun! Celebrated landscape photographers like Ansel Adams, David Muench and Guy Tal make this task look easy. The secret, however, is in their preparation, technique, and a deep understanding and appreciation of Mother Nature’s light.

In this Landscape Intensive workshop, you will strengthen your techniques and skills to elevate your landscape photography, just in time to enjoy springtime shooting! Through interactive lectures, assignments, and helpful critiques, you will learn:

  • What makes natural light so magical and how to use it to strengthen your visual expression

  • How to use one of the most powerful forecasting tools, The Photographer’s Ephemeris, to prepare and and maximize location and light

  • Why arranging positive and negative space with your camera position enhances our perception of depth

  • How to get everything sharp in the frame from the close foreground to infinity and beyond using hyperfocal focusing

  • A simple workflow to capture and merge High Dynamic Range software to create a natural look to high contrast scenes

  • How to create dynamic panoramic scenes using a simple approach

Finally, we will jump into the digital darkroom and explore strategies in Lightroom and Photoshop to bring out the best of what an image offers so we can invite our viewers in to explore for a while.
